NABA business mission to Ghana

Terje Osmundsen, CEO and founder of Empower New Energy AS, will attend the NABA 2018 Business Mission to Ghana, and will make a short presentation concerning the crucial need for innovative financing models when scaling decentralised renewable in Africa.

On Monday, March 19th through to Wednesday, March 21st, NABA 2018 (Norwegian African Business Association) will commence its Business Mission to Ghana.

NABA works to strengthen business relations between Norway and African partners and this business mission speaks directly to that aim. Ghana has such excellent opportunities to offer and this delegation brings with it the best from the Norwegian business sector–focusing on energy, agribusiness and other sectors.

Furthermore, this mission is harmonised to coincide with the official opening of the Norfund Ghana office by the Norwegian Minister of International Development, Nikolai Astrup. Terje Osmundsen, Empower New Energy's founder and CEO, will present "Decentralised Renewables: Getting the regulations and business models right", speaking specifically about the crucial need for innovative financing models when scaling decentralised renewables in Africa.

Empower New Energy's vision is to make renewable energy the preferred solution for utilities and power developers. As part of our vision we see renewable energy solutions as fundamental to contribute effectively towards positively informing environmental and financial choices when considering energy generation.

With a vision to accelerate the deployment of decentralised renewables in developing countries, Empower New Energy has established an investment vehicle, Empower One AS, which addresses critical barriers that currently limit the deployment of medium-scale renewables in emerging economies, of which the primary barrier is access to finance.
