The project is part of L'Oréal’s ambitious global target to become 100 % powered by renewable energy and to reduce CO2 emissions by 57%. 

The goal of the Homa Bay Solar Livelihood project is to reduce post-harvest losses, improve market access for fish and farm produce, expand access to clean water, and build stronger livelihoods for local people. More than 1,500 households are expected to benefit. 

AFRIGREEN Debt Impact Fund and Empower New Energy announced a debt financing deal for 26 solar and battery storage plants across Nigeria. The initiative will provide over 8,000 MWh of clean electricity annually to Justrite Superstores, reducing operational costs and cutting around 4,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.
