Empower New Energy signs two new contracts in Nigeria with Jendol Superstores and Juddy-Bolema

Nigeria, November 2025: Empower New Energy is proud to announce the successful signing of solar project contracts with Jendol Superstores and Juddy-Bolema Industries Limited. The event took place at the sidelines of the Nordic Nigeria Connect event held in Lagos recently. The total size of the two new projects is about 4 MWp and 3,5 MWh battery storage, equal to an investment of about $4 MUSD, and will be constructed and operated by Empower’s local EPC partner Paras Energy The two investments will result in the saving of about 3000 tons of CO₂ annually.
Jendol Superstores is one of Lagos’ leading retail chains. The project will deploy rooftop solar PV and battery storage systems across five Jendol Superstores’ branches, meeting over half of their energy needs. The smart energy management system ensures seamless integration between solar, battery, and grid/diesel power, showcasing distributed solar and storage solutions can scale successfully within the commercial retail sector in Nigeria.
Juddy-Bolema Industries specializes in the manufacturing of plastic products. The partnership with Empower will allow the company to reduce the reliance on diesel generators, saving costs, and improving the company’s environmental performance.
Both contracts are Power Support Agreements, which means that Empower New Energy takes full responsibility for financing, construction, maintenance and supply of electricity throughout the 10-year contract period.

The signing of the two solar contracts was overseen by Norway’s Ambassador Svein Bæra and Councellor Solveig Andresen at the Nordic-Nigeria Connect event in Lagos in October 2025.
