Empower New Energy is an award-winning impact fund manager investing in small and medium-scale renewable energy projects in developing countries. Our investment fund, Empower Invest, is Europe's first renewable impact investment platform with a focus on Africa. We focus on distributed energy in the commercial and industrial market and have a well-developed pipeline with projects in Ghana, Rwanda, Kenya, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Tanzania. Today, we are 9 employees and have offices in Oslo and Nairobi and a representative office in Accra.
As we are preparing for our first project investments and a second round of fundraising, we are looking for an intern in administration and communication who can help bring the company forward. Your tasks will include:
Carrying out general administrative tasks
Assisting with general bookkeeping and account management
Supporting and assisting the senior management team
Updating the website of Empower as well as updating and handling social media
Writing and publishing blogs, as well as assisting in writing analysis and articles
We are looking for someone who:
Is interested in sustainable finance, green investments, renewable energy and Africa
Is studying business administration, communication, finance, economics, renewable energy or something similar that is relevant to what we do
Has experience with administrative work, accounting and communication
Is fluent in written and spoken English
Has a high work capacity and can work independently
Can work 2 days a week, understanding that there may be periods of time that require the intern to work more than this
The internship is for 6 months, starting in January 2020, and during this time you will be an important part of our team. You will get your own desk at our offices in Oslo as well as access to a computer and free lunch in the cafeteria. A small remuneration can also be discussed.
